Undergraduate Student Services, Advising, and Records
Advising
Each student at SEAS is assigned a faculty advisor within his or her department and is encouraged to consult with the advisor regularly. Find out more about the advising system by accessing the list of undergraduate academic advisors or the various advising forms.
Student Records
Our dedicated staff maintain your student records. If you have questions about your records, please contact them at (202-994-1796) or (202-994-7609) for assistance.
Undergraduate Student Services
The Office of Undergraduate Student Services was created to provide undergraduate
students with additional support in their goals of academic success.
Established to assist the SEAS student in addressing a wide range
of issues, the Office of Undergraduate Student Services supports the student as they
address questions outside of their curriculum, giving students and
even their parents a place to direct non-curriculum related questions.
Different from the academic advisor, the Coordinator of Student Services
is an ombudsman of sorts, working closely with university and local
services, and often referring students to appropriate services where
they receive additional support as they work towards resolution.
By providing guidance on how to seek support from the GW resources,
student concerns that have been addressed include priority management, tutoring,
financial aid, familial difficulties, and domestic/dorm issues, among
others. The goal of the Office of Undergraduate Student Services is to help students
navigate through their experiences, reaching resolution while simultaneously
developing and encouraging student resourcefulness.

SEAS Undergraduate Tutoring Program
Looking for help with a course? Don’t know who to ask or where
to go for help? Getting a tutor before things get out of control, i.e.
failing a test, is the best time to ask for help. A tutor can help you
understand a particular concept or work with you on a steady basis.
Getting your request in early is key to getting the help you need before
you get into academic difficulty!
The SEAS undergraduate tutoring program is comprised of two types of tutoring, walk-in and hourly.
Walk-in tutoring is tutoring for Chemistry 11 & 12; Math 20, 21, 31, 32 & 33; and Physics 21 & 22. It occurs on a set schedule, at a fixed location.
Hourly tutoring is provided free of charge for freshman and sophomore level courses when the student identifies the need. The tutor is provided by the department offering the SEAS course. For non-SEAS courses, the tutor will be arranged by the department requiring the course.
Questions regarding the SEAS tutoring program or policy should be directed to the Coordinator of Student Services, "mykleb at gwu.edu" or (202) 994-8323.
