Greetings, SEAS Alumni:
Here's a look at recent and upcoming SEAS activities and events:
SEAS Recognizes Six Alumni with the GW Engineering Hall of Fame Award
On November 1, 2007, SEAS held its second annual dinner to honor the new GW Engineering Hall of Fame inductees. The 2007 Hall of Fame inductees are: Dirk S. Brady, BS’43; Mario W. Cardullo, MEA’66; L. Stanley Crane, BS’38; Emilio A. Fernandez, MEA’76; Michael Lorenzo, MEA’56; and Vernon W. Yates, BS’57. Four of the inductees were in attendance at the awards ceremony; L. Stanley Crane was inducted posthumously.
The GW Engineering Hall of Fame recognizes SEAS alumni who during their careers have made sustained and meritorious contributions to engineering, technology, and/or management. These individuals bring distinction to GW through their significant achievements and contributions to their professions, the University, and society-at-large.
The dinner and award ceremony this year was held on campus, in the City View Room at the Elliot School of International Affairs. SEAS alumni, faculty, friends and the inductees’ family members joined in the festivities to honor the inductees. The evening commenced with a cocktail hour and a toast by SEAS alumnus Patrick Marolda. SEAS National Advisory Council chair, Scott Amey, made welcome remarks, followed by GW President Steven Knapp, who shared his vision for the university, and SEAS Dean Timothy Tong. Dean Tong and President Knapp concluded the evening with the presentation of the Hall of Fame awards to each of the inductees.
SEAS welcomes alumni nominations for Hall of Fame induction. Alumni who would like to nominate a fellow alumnus/a to the Hall of Fame, should send the nominee's name and qualifications to:
